Your hosts Mair and Gerry look forward to welcoming you in person to their lovely "home from home" ~ The Grove, Llanfairfechan ~ the 2009 Calor Village of the Year for North Wales. Elegant five-star en-suite B&B accommodation in an idyllic position ~ on the North Wales Coast, at the edge of Snowdonia, near the University City of Bangor, facing the Isle of Anglesey across the Menai Straits and close to Llandudno and Conwy Valley. Nestling between 3000ft mountains and the coast The Grove enjoys a central position ~ with easy access to the North Wales Path (including a Roman Road), the Carneddau Mountains of Snowdonia, the shoreline (with several nature reserves) looking out at the mouth of the Menai Straits, Ynys Seiriol (Puffin Island) and Y Gogarth (the "Great Orme" headland in Llandudno ("The Queen of Welsh Resorts" ~ easy to get to along the very scenic coastal part of the A55). Nearby are the North Wales Cycle Route and many golf courses (around 50 within an hour), castles, stately homes and gardens, narrow gauge railways, marinas, and fishing opportunities. Built in the Edwardian Period, this detached residence retains a wealth of original character. Following major refurbishment it now also offers a high level of modern comforts. If you want "a sense of place" and to experience the best of Welsh hospitality with an abundance of activities then this is the place for you. We provide a comprehensive list of restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy the best of local cuisine for your lunches and evening meals. Accessibility

As an older house of character with two storeys (and elevated above the road) we have no purpose designed special access arrangements. The Grove does not however seem to present any problems for guests with limited mobility (e.g. relying on a walking stick) ~ the parking area is approached up a gravel drive with a gentle gradient and the access to the guest front door ia via a level gravel footpath with two steps outside the door. Nearby are two easily accessed bus stops (with frequent services to/from Bangor and Llandudno) and a well maintained (generally wide) level pavement to the village centre. A separate pedestrian access from the pavement to the gravel path leading to the front door includes a short flight of concrete steps between stone walls which can be used for support Within the house access to guest bedrooms at first floor level is via a relativley wide original staircase.
